Hoopty Bikes - Mobile Bike Repair

I can’t recommend Chris at Hoopty Mobile Bike Repair enough. I had two bikes that needed work — and one of them was seriously concerning. My Lectric Xpedition 2.0 cargo bike had completely failed. I would pedal and the cranks would just spin without driving the back wheel. Something was clearly broken. Within minutes of looking at it, Chris not only identified what failed, but explained why it failed. The bike had been installed with a generic 8-speed freewheel — a part he quickly found (through Gemini) was known to fail so often that Shimano doesn’t even manufacture them anymore. He recommended switching to a more reliable 7-speed setup instead. Problem diagnosed and solved with total clarity. Best part? He had all the parts with him and did the entire repair right in my garage driveway. He also tuned up my REI Co-Op gravel bike — new chain, replaced the shifter cable, adjusted the brakes — and now it feels brand new. Honestly, both bikes ride like they just came off the showroom floor. Chris is a great communicator, provides solid paperwork with clear estimates and a detailed final invoice, and clearly has deep mechanical knowledge. When you learn he’s a Hall of Fame BMX’er and that his grandfather worked on massive Caterpillar mining machinery, it all makes sense — bikes and machines are in his DNA. On top of that, he’s just a good guy. Sociable, great with my wife, mother-in-law, kids… even our cat approved. If you need bike repair, skip the shop wait and call Chris. Total pro.

Chris is a certified professional and all-around magician with bicycles. He repaired a flat and put on a cargo carrier for my large Aventon e-bike. Would highly recommend!

I got hit by a car and I needed to service my bike asap and Hoopty bikes was fast and responsive. He detailed my bike and fixed everything that needed to be done and he also went above and beyond by tightening my basket, secured my headlight and wiped down every crevice of my bike.
